Meet Our Team

Austin Johnson, MA, AMFT

While attending Pepperdine University for a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, I treated and counseled clients at Inspire Malibu, a dual-diagnosis rehabilitation center, for more than a year. Simultaneously, I completed my practicum internship at OPICA Day Care and Counseling Center, where I counseled the elder population with mental disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

I have worked with a wide range of people—from teenagers to octogenarians—and beyond, encompassing psychological approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solutions-Focused Therapy. I have experience counseling both individuals and families, and I have facilitated groups for people with disorders such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, addiction, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, and self-esteem issues.

Douglas May, MA, EdD, AMFT

Following my Practicum Internship at OPICA Adult Day Care Center in West Los Angeles, where I counseled individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, I worked as a Substance-Abuse Counselor at two rehabilitation facilities located in the West Valley: Inspire Malibu and Warner Park Recovery Center. I currently work at ASJ Family Counseling Center in Calabasas treating clients of all ages with mental and chemical-dependency issues and those with dual diagnoses.

I employ such techniques as CBT, DBT, ACT, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to help treat clients with their concerns. I have extensive experience working with individuals with all types of disorders, and I specialize in treating people affected by anxiety and depression, PTSD, addictions, and trauma.
